About Nina
Nina Morel started learning the cello with Marie-José Didderen at the Muziekschool Aalst/Waalre. She participated in many projects during her high school years, that is when her love for music began. After high school, she began studying with Paul Uyterlinde at the Conservatory of Tilburg.
During her studies, Nina joined Jeugdorkest Nederland, Maastricht Academic Orchestra, Nederlands Symfonie Project, and Euregio Youth Orchestra. She was principal of Nederlands Studenten Orkest in 2021. She played in many concert halls, including: Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musikverein Wien, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, De Doelen Rotterdam, Rudolfinum Prague, and the Slovak Radio Building.
Nina received multiple masterclasses, including those from Alexis Descharmes, Maja Bogdanović, David Cohen, Olsi Leka, Mario Brunello, Øyvind Gimse and Leonid Gorokhov. She played in chamber music groups at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Utrecht. Nina is also playing with Cugnon Project, where professionals and students play chamber music together. She regularly joins masterclasses and side-by-side projects at the Davidsbündler Music Academy.
Nina not only enjoys playing classical music but also all other genres and she enjoys all kinds of projects. Last year she joined Mirusia on tour. Nina is the cello teacher at Kunstencentrum Waalwijk , RICK in Weert and Harmonie Kaatsheuvel. Teaching others is an incredible lesson for her!
She loves all the projects she is doing and puts all her energy into them. For her, the combination of studying and making music together with others is the most beautiful thing there is!
